PROGRESSIVES? I am still waiting for you to progress.

Hi Everyone,
Arizona Mildman here. I don't understand what is going on exactly, with the people who want to be "independent" of everyone else's thinking. No one on an independent ticket has ever won a presidency. Independents like Ron Paul call themselves that, but actually vote more conservative than most Republicans, runs on the Republican ticket, and uses the constitution as an excuse for everything he does. That is called RHETORIC. Let me explain what the problem that I see is.
A) There are basically two types of people. 1) Conservatives ,  2) Liberals. I wish to say for the record that either/or thinking or black and white thinking is a block to critical thinking but one is MOSTLY one or the other and that determines how you define yourself as we are forced by society and our own conscience to "Pick a lane" or side. Now as far as human instinct goes and genetic predisposition to things go, it is determined that most people are BORN one or the other unless they are a complete sociopath.
B) The definition of the words Liberal and Conservative need to be defined to the American people.
I am going to give you the two number one definitions for conservative directly from the dictionary:
con·serv·a·tive [kuhn-sur-vuh-tiv]
disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., orto restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
liberal [lib-er-uhl, lib-ruhl]
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religiousaffairs.

NOW, please tell me what the reason is that some people are now trying to independently call themselves "PROGRESSIVES". Do they think we don't know what the word progressive means? Do they not understand that the first three words in the definition of the word "liberal" are "...favorable to progress..."? I will define something for those of you who are too uneducated or simple minded to understand it.

THE WORD CONSERVATIVE MEANS "...disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change...". THIS IS NOT PROGRESSIVE, THIS IS THE OPPOSITE.
Let me explain my present theory on why people seem to be born conservative. Most human beings are born with what is known as a flight or fight mechanism built into their psyche that causes them to defend themselves no matter how  non -violent they have become. This is called preservation instinct. When people learn how to manage people, the first thing they are taught is how to threaten people so that these people who are managed will fear the consequences of not following orders. Many American parents teach their children to fear them and call it respect. Then these people become scared of life and become easily afraid to venture out into the world and make their own mistakes because they don't want to learn the hard way. A lot of these people are governed by religions that teach them that they already have all the right answers if they read a certain religious book so they never develop critical thinking. Critical thinking is necessary in order to properly do anything analytical, like any form or research, scientific or otherwise. The dictionary says that critical thinking is: "...disciplined thinking that is clear, rational, open-minded, and informed by evidence...". There is a definite set of problems for some people, they are called "blocks to critical thinking" and if we rely on any of them during a time of judgement and speculation, then, we can't think critically.
The main blocks to critical thinking are: 1) Ethnocentricity 2) Cultural Conditioning,3) Reliance on Authority, 4) Hasty Moral Judgment, 5) Black and White Thinking, 6) Labels, and 7) Resistance to Change.
1) Ethnocentricism or Ethnocentricity is the belief in the inherent superiority of one's own ethnic group or culture and/or a tendency to view alien groups or cultures from the perspective of one's own.
2) Cultural Conditioning refers to the way society’s attitudes and beliefs are passed on, which has a tendency to happen to all of us.
3) Reliance on Authority is referring to believing what the authority believes. The authority is an expert outside of our own beliefs or experience.
4) Hasty Moral Judgment is evaluating someone on how they look, their background and their associations.
5) Black and White Thinking refers to the thinking of placing things in either / or categories.
6) Labels (like liberal or conservative, two party thinking, etc.) are an example of stereotyping. To say that all people are this or that is ignorant, incorrect, and wrong.
7) Resistance to change means change from status quo or from existing conditions that are outdated, outmoded, or archaic. The reason so many people in our society right now are confused is their fear about facing the fact that things have changed for us and it's time to do something different.  If the past methods worked, we wouldn't be in this position and resistance to change means we are going backwards instead of forwards. There is no standing still, we are either going up or down. Statistics can stay the same but life keeps changing and moving all day long. Progress requires Change and Resistance to Change means Resistance to Progress. That ISN'T progressive.
Being "kind of conservative" means that you are open to listening to another point of view but not willing to change anything. That is like saying, "I will listen to what you have to say, but my mind is made up."
There is a quote from a man named Herbert Spencer that I feel is quite appropriate here, "...There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments, and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance—that principle is contempt prior to investigation."
Don't call yourself Progressive if you don't want to progress and change in a forward direction.

You Might Be A Conservative If:

From a Facecbook member.

1: You're irate over the president taking so many vacation days on the taxpayer's dime (61 thus far), but you thought George W. Bush earned every minute of his leisure time (196 days at the same point in his presidency).

2: You're happy with your 40 hour work week, paid vacations and company-provided healthcare, but you're strongly anti-union, because those commies haven't done anything for you lately.

3: You strongly support the First Amendment and it's guarantee of religious freedom to all, but you don't think Muslims have a right to build an Islamic Community Center in Manhattan.

4: You believe Ronald Reagan was a devout Christian, even though he hated going to church, but any president who spends twenty years going to the same Trinity United Church in Chicago must be a Muslim.

5: You believe when a Republican governor creates a healthcare package with an individual mandate for everyone in his state, that's a good idea. But when a Democratic president does it, suddenly it's unconstitutional.

6: You're so enthused about demonstrating your Second Amendment rights, you can think of no finer place to brandish your pistol in public than at a presidential rally.

7: You believe Bill Clinton was responsible for Osama bin Laden's escape ten years ago, but thankfully George W. Bush caught up with him and killed him in Pakistan.

8: You believe in putting American jobs first, except when president Obama rescued 1.5 million GM and Chrysler autoworkers, because that was socialism.

9: It angers you that you can't communicate with the Mexican busboy at your local Olive Garden, but when you took a vacation to San Francisco's Chinatown, you thought it's quaint that so many Chinese-Americans are holding fast to their traditional language. Because that's America!

10: You deny that the lunatic who tried to murder Gaby Giffords was a conservative, even though he targeted a Jewish, pro-choice, pro gay rights, Democratic Congresswoman.

11: You thought it was perfectly normal that every president in history had an untethered right to raise the debt ceiling when warranted, but when Obama asked the GOP held congress to do it, you thought it only natural that it be tied to cutting Social Security and Medicare.

12: When the new 112th Congress was sworn in, you swooned as they promised to focus on Jobs, jobs, jobs. But when they pivoted, and went after NPR, Planned Parenthood and gay rights, you cheered.

13: You accuse president Obama of raising your taxes to the highest point ever, even though they're lower today than at any time since 1950.

14: You believe the wealthiest Americans are job creators, and they are but it doesn't bother you that all the workers in those positions are in India, China and Malaysia, and they're doing the jobs that our fathers once did.

15: You believe gays are anti-American, because their lifestyle is a threat to the children unless they're married to Tea Party-backed presidential candidates from Minnesota.

16: You strongly defend individual freedom, but that freedom doesn't include a woman's right to decide her own healthcare needs.

17: You believe corporations are people too, and are deserving of the same rights as the rest of us. Just not the same obligations to pay personal income tax free of corporate loopholes, or penalties for massive criminal behavior and tax evasion. In these matters, corporations are deserving of special rights.

18: And since corporations are now people too, you must believe in their right to a driver's license, the right to marry, to adopt children, etc. These rights shall not be denied to Exxon, Halliburton and BP (but still immune from the right of the People to try, convict and sentence to death any corporation that conspires to commit a felony because at that point, they're suddenly not people again.)

19: You still believe Climate Change is a myth, and the recent record highs, lows, floods and droughts around the world coinciding with climate scientist's predictions are all an amazing coincidence. Oh, and Al Gore is FAT!

20: You believe when George W. Bush took the national debt from $5 trillion to $11 trillion, it was necessary for him to do so to keep America safe. But when Barack Obama added to it by trying to rescue the country from a second Great Depression, he was deliberately trying to destroy America!

21: You believe America is a God fearing country, and that the Almighty protects those who believe just as you do. But it's never crossed your mind that the majority of tornados, hurricanes and floods all occur in the Bible Belt.

22: You believe that no matter who's in the White House, the office, if not the man himself is deserving of your respect. The only exceptions to this rule, are if his middle name sounds Muslim, and if he's not at least as white as that black guy who works down in the mailroom at the office.

The Republican Candidates For 2012

This is the stupidest selection of candidates they could have come up with. Is everyone in the GOP really dense enough to think wanting stupid to be a virtue will gain them an election? Don't they realize that everyone of their candidates has helped terminate the economy already? And talk about weird, here is the list:
There is Mitt Romney, he thinks he is a shoe-in for president based on being a Mormon. He was born rich and belongs to a church whose members hide their wealth in the church to keep from paying income taxes and now he states that corporations are people, too. I wish I could say that no one is as out of touch as Romney is, out of this group, but there are some that are almost worse. You would think that when the entire crowd starts laughing at him that he would try to shut up and take a different approach. Instead he keeps rolling in the wrong direction. I can't believe he said this in public:

Then his front running oponent is Rick Perry, the Governor of Texas who seems to be proud of killing more people than cancer. He thinks Texas is still in the wild West and shouldn't be responsible for learning that capital offenses are never righted by more bloodshed but killing for killing makes sense to him. That is what the people of Texas decided or what they were taught. This is where the hate comes from in our society is people who grow up believing they are right about anything this serious when they are obviously disagreeing with the rest of the world on this point:

Ron Paul is as nervous as a speed freak on the front steps of the police station. Is this guy shifty looking or what? I want you to pay close attention to his voice as he is speaking. He has learned a trick almost like a hypnotist when he makes a reply publicly. No matter how many interviews I have heard with him, he always does the same thing. He charges into each of his answers with a voice inflection that sounds like a question. Then he makes it sound as if he answers the question in the calming voice in his next sentence. Like Sarah Palin, whenever Ron Paul says anything his groupies cheer as if he said something poignant. It is a great orator trick that subliminally asks the audience to applaud like he was holding up a sign begging the audience to clap. He is completely out of touch with "the little people" in his anarchist mentality where rich people like himself make the rules for everyone else. But at the end he got completely disarmed by the question about if the man should die and went to pieces with nothing but a quick, flippant pat answer:

I am going to dedicate some time to the two female crazies that are running this election. First, Michelle Bachmann and her obviously gay husband:

And also:

Marcus Bachmann is as obviously gay as the spokes person.

And this is her Christian Family Value attitude on slavery:

And NOW on to the last presidential election's biggest embarrassment:

Now Governor Palin is even confused after going to visit and gets the Paul Revere story wrong. Most people would see this as a flaw in her educational policies:

She just has a need to say something when she doesn't have an answer. I would think this probably dates back to the Katey Couric interview where her reply was, "Well, I think I'll just have to get back to you on that one..." as if it was a take home interview.
Now for the rest that we hardly know, starting with Jon Huntsman, whom I had never heard of before the recent debates. He is the most responsible, soft spoken, non-blaming, non-party politics candidate that we have seen. He is NOT a racist, a loud blamer trying to shift responsibility to Obama for everything the Tea Party and the GOP have done. And he has made the statement that if the Republicans ever want to get respect of most of the country, then they will first have to stop denying facts and science.

Jon Stewart of the Daily Show on comedy central said that John Huntsman's science answer shows that evolution is possible as Huntsman just evolved into someone who will never get elected by the Tea Party or the GOP.

And then comes Rick Santorum, who is known for throwing fast cutting remarks without thinking, he is just following the party line to attack Obama, while feigning respect for the president's family values, any way he can as if that is showing us something about his own character:

Santorum and Ron Paul have disagreed on just about every issue. The humorous thing to me is that Ron Paul votes more conservatively than most Republicans.
Then there is Herman Cain. Who? I don't remember hearing at all of this guy before. Here is some on him:

And then there is Newt Gingrich, whom you will have to look up yourself since embedding ALMOST ANY VIDEOS on him has been disabled on Youtube for some reason. This is the only one I could find:

This is the best the GOP can come up with. The sad thing is that the Tea Party will probably vote for anyone but the one candidate they have that A) is knowledgeable on facts, B) makes the most sense, and C) is by far the least irritating - John Huntsman. Sad to say, he probably doesn't have a shot because he just isn't crazy enough to get Republican zealots jumping up and down while screaming nonsense. BUT, maybe that is a good thing, as he is the only one that swingvote independents and blue dog Democrats might think about changing their vote against their own party for.

Why Is Mainstream American News Ignoring Iceland?

As most of us are aware, the world has been rather hesitant by most and resistant by many about our views and dismisses us mainly as a bunch of kooks who don't get it. Mainstream religious people have a real push on to try to get people to ignore us and try to discredit us since we don't have a "spook in the sky" God like they do because according to their thinking (or lack thereof) we don't qualify as a real religion. We don't have a bible or any kind of main religious book that we can all point to and argue about it's principles like they do. We don't identify with any main deities that we pray to for the right to say we are the "right kind" of people and forgiveness from our "sins". We don't even have a system of sins or a guy who sits on a cloud, in a throne, keeping score like some cosmic Santa Clause ("He knows when you are sleeping, he knows when you're awake. He knows when you've been bad or good so be good for goodness sake.") who is going to ban us from the spiritual afterlife party in the sky because we know we need to refrain from being evil for the sake of being a non-evil, less selfish person just because it is the right thing to do instead of out of fear of going to "the other place" which in our ancient mythology, we could match or beat anything they came up with in theirs. I mean, how can that work? Just WANTING TO BE a good person, after all, who does that kind of stuff and who believes that will work? Gandhi, Albert Schweitzer, Mother Teresa, Father John Aquinas?
Right now we have been somewhat isolated and ignored or completely rebuked and blocked from giving a message that we know makes more sense, we should know how Iceland feels. They had a "secret"(?)revolution to most of us, anyway. The fact that the news media here doesn't want us to read this makes me think that the mainstream news is thinking one of two things: 1) That we may follow suit so they don't want us to know what actually works when you refuse to buckle to the foreign banks, OR 2) That they are so busy chasing the latest (squirrel) story that ran by and distracted by only local news that they completely ignored a human interest story that rivals the fall of either Cuba or The Soviet Union. There is an article on this story at .
