My Reply From John McCain Today

Recently (December 11th) I posted an article  detailing my concerns on the Omnibus Bill and included a copy of my email to Senator John McCain (R- Arizona's senior Senator) and today I got a reply even though I didn't request one. It said, "

Dear Mr. Walker:

Thank you for writing to me with your concerns about H.R. 83, the Consolidated and Further Continuing Appropriations Act, 2015.  I appreciate hearing your thoughts on this issue.
As you may know, on December 13, 2014, Congress passed H.R. 83, which is the $1.1 trillion federal appropriations bill for Fiscal Year 2015.  I did not vote for the bill because I was concerned with the process whereby we pass a 1,603 page, $1.1 trillion spending bill  ?  without adequate time to carefully review, debate and absolutely no ability to amend.  It is my hope that the Senate will go back to "regular order" and consider each one of the 12 individual appropriations bills with ample time to debate and amend policy concerns.  Please be assured that I will keep your views in mind when we consider appropriations bills in the 114th Congress.

Thank you again for contacting me with your concerns on this issue.  Please do not hesitate to contact me again with this or any other matter of concern.

My Most Recent Letter To Senator John McCain

I hasten to preface this article with the immediate admission that I copied and pasted parts of this letter to my local senator with my outrage because of an article posted and copied and pasted many of the parts of the article (Source Cited below my signature, if you want to read their entire article.) directly into his "request submission form" so, the information in this piece are not strictly my own, just my opinions are.
People used to call Bill Clinton "Slick Willie" for putting side issues into a bill he wanted passed that he knew no one would read completely and therefore get issues passed that no one would have voted for by hiding them in a bill that was originally about issues that no one would dare vote against. John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and the entire Tea Party Caucus have done the same thing but they are trying to pass measures that are so outrageous that everyone in the public has noticed and even internet bloggers are calling attention to. My message to John McCain in full said this:
"If the omnibus budget deal passes as is, then we are going to be in real trouble in the U.S., with $479 MILLION FOR WARPLANES THAT THE PENTAGON DIDN'T ASK FOR (and said they were obsolete, do we really need to talk about the Military Industrial Complex? Your party already glutted them during the Bush administration.), $93 MILLION CUT FROM THE WOMEN, INFANTS AND CHILDREN (WIC) NUTRITION PROGRAM (Once again ignoring the needs of many over a few rich greedy people.), NULLIFICATION OF VOTER-BACKED MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION IN D.C. (Which would mean progress instead of the present useless "war on drugs" that only lines the pockets of privatized prisons and the police agencies who chase pot while funding it by importing and selling drugs like cocaine and heroin in the United States, and have been caught repeatedly doing just that.), THE BILL THAT CITIGROUP WROTE (After the 2008 financial crisis, a lot of people were understandably less enthusiastic about derivatives — A financial instrument that played a major role in the crisis and led to the collapse and $85 billion taxpayer bailout of insurance giant AIG. As Ben Protess of the New York Times explained, Congress used the 2010 Dodd-Frank law to create “a requirement that banks “push out” some derivatives trading into separate units that are not backed by the government’s deposit insurance fund. The proponents of the push-out rule argued that it would isolate risky trading from parts of a bank eligible for a government bailout.” Since everyone from the Tea Party to Occupy Wall Street was infuriated by the big bank bailouts, you’d think Congress would still be taking a victory lap for passing a measure that makes bailouts less likely. Instead, they’re using the budget bill to sneakily kill it.) This will lead to another banking crisis that will be self inflicted, which is once again, how your party, as you so aptly put it, has lost their way. They care only about lobbyists and soft money contributions, not about the American people.
Also, MORE BIG MONEY IN POLITICS, which is something you voted against in the McCain/Feingold Act and your party seems to be trying to become an oligarchy and a plutocracy. But what it comes down to is, corporatism IS FASCISM and that is what you seem to be faced with. Certain party members aren't supposed to decide for the public, against their wishes and votes, what they think "THE PUBLIC  NEEDS" based on greed and corruption, and when I look at the amount of time you and others have faced, trying to get people to believe yours is not a party of rich old greedy, out of touch white men, then, I am straining to see a difference and can't.
Thank You, Steve Walker of Phoenix, AZ"
I will post his reply if I receive one and then we can compare what I said to him with what excuses he gives me.

Black on Black Crime Bullshit Excuse

Hi, everyone, I am kind of steamed tonight. I am sick of people trying to excuse the shooting of unarmed people by the police when they have so many other options available because the police in question are either SCARED
or RACIST which means pretty much the same thing when it gets down to it.
Last night someone that I consider a friend said something that made me go the fuck off. He started on the old FOX NEWS racist rich white prick commentator privileged idiot comments about how most black people get killed by other black people. Well, that is true, but completely irrelevant and is only brought up by uninformed people who want to ACT like they know something about the subject because they heard that from a racism apologist like Ann Coulter. Well, here goes.
Yes, most black people get killed by other black people. Most white people are killed by other white people. Most Native Americans are killed by other Americans (at least in the last eighty years or so), and so on and so on. This guy actually called that an FBI statistic.
Here is the actual statistics for that exact subject IF YOU READ THE WHOLE STORY. Here are some numbers for you from the latest report I could find quickly online (2009):
"Of the 13,636 murder victims in 2009 for which supplemental data were received, ... Of the homicides for which the FBI received weapons data, most (71.8 percent) ... In 2009, 24.2 percent of victims were slain by family members; 53.8 percent were killed by someone they knew (acquaintance, neighbor, friend, boyfriend, etc.) ..."
So, SINCE WE ALL GET KILLED BY A FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY, the comment that, "Most black people are killed by other black people..." has no significance and means NOTHING and the only reason anyone who uses that tired rationalisation uses it is to try to make excuses for RACISM, IGNORANCE, and INCOMPETENCE on the part of the police.
Let's take racism and race completely out of the picture (hard to do because it was a white cop and an unarmed black teenager). But we will do just that.
OK, in the United States, law enforcement has rules that they have to live by, also. One has to do with the words, "DUE FORCE NECESSARY". Which means, as a friend of mine told me once, "When someone steps on your foot, it isn't equal and just to cut off his head."
When the police have a Sam Brown belt that has mace/pepper spray, handcuffs, a nightstick, and in their car they have a bean bag gun and a net gun to use and as this demonstrates, it is completely effective without deadly force.
So, BACK TO THE ACTUAL conversation, NO ONE ANYWHERE, NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE OR WHAT YOU DID, needs to be shot to death for anything other than a last resort. And the following meme expresses what I think of the people who try to say that black people, who are being murdered by the police, are "trying to play the race card".

I am not the only one reporting this. If you want the statistics of who the police shoot to death most, here, go to this site that has the FBI report statistics with links to the pages they got the information from.

Today's Reply From John McCain's Office

On November 23rd, I read something that unnerved me, a racist statement by Ira Hansen from Nevada and I wrote to John McCain. What I said was, "Incoming Nevada Assembly Speaker Ira Hansen of the Republican Party said in a statement publicly that, "...the relationship of Negroes and Democrats is truly a master-slave relationship. with the benevolent master knowing what's best for his simple minded darkies."
He actually said this out loud. I don't have the time or patience to explain how many levels on which this is completely wrong and racially insensitive and insulting to fellow Democrats, since I am caucasian, progressive, and not a Christian (as I know several places in the bible and other religious texts that it not only never speaks out against slavery, it condone it and actually gives instructions on "how to" own and treat slaves).
You have a choice. It is bad enough that so many of your party use race as a vote rallying tool, but condoning this language and this ignorance publicly is apathy. Apathy means you don't care, which means you ignore racism amongst your party. Some members of your party have tried really hard to keep from wording anything that might even have the slightest hint of being racially insensitive, much less racist. But this blatant attempt to convince racists that their motives are pure and giving them an excuse to call racism "correct" and rational, instead of what it is, ignorance and fear, coupled with hate from generations of the mutual admiration society that tells each other that they are the "right kind" of people, and deserve to look down on other human beings. It makes me glad to be progressive, it makes me glad to be Buddhist, and it makes me glad to be a man who stands up for and voices his condemnation of people who think they are better than everyone else.
I will be waiting to hear about your condemnation of his behavior in the Arizona Republican and
Thank You In Advance,

No More Mr. Nice Guy About The Party of Lies

It occurs to me today that most people are afraid to confront people who are wrong on their ideological fallacies and illogical behaviors. The result? The party of lies and liars (to themselves as well as others) has never been properly confronted. The problem we face is the fact that government officials, especially candidates for office, of any kind, know better than to disillusion the delusional. Republicans are the party of conservatives, no matter how wrong they are, for fear of losing votes.
People who call themselves today's "conservatives" lie to themselves and others constantly rather than face reality. When you ask them what "being conservative" means, as so many of them are quick to tell us,  they reply that it means, "...that we have 'a different opinion" about how things 'should' work."
This isn't black and white or logical thinking. This is the thinking of people who have to lie to themselves in order to keep from admitting to themselves that they were and are still wrong. Conservatives aren't the only ones to do that. Not accepting reality is NOT having a different opinion, it is an attempt to have a different reality, and that condition on earth doesn't exist. No one wants to tell them this because then you would have to completely prove that everything they believe in, including their religious texts, are is not real, althought one part of their beliefs being real and therefore, that one real fact making all the rest real is called a which can be done, but takes a long time because they have been taught to believe in the ad populum fallacy. In teaching the blocks to critical thinking, in my opinion, this should be right up there with cultural conditioning and egocentric thinking.
The definition stated in "The Skeptic's Dictionary" says,
"...The ad populum fallacy is the appeal to the popularity of a claim as a reason for accepting it.
The number of people who believe a claim is irrelevant to its truth. Fifty million people can be wrong. In fact, millions of people have been wrong about many things: that the Earth is flat and motionless, for example, and that the stars are lights shining through holes in the sky."
When confronted with this illusion by conservatives, the proper and confrontational reply should be, "Ask yourself, "When the majority of people thought that the earth was flat, did that make the earth flat?" ." But we never ask that question.
"Listen to the rest of the definition.)
"...The ad populum fallacy is also referred to as the bandwagon fallacy, the appeal to the mob, the democratic fallacy, and the appeal to popularity. The ad populum fallacy is seductive because it appeals to our desire to belong and to conform, to our desire for security and safety. It is a common appeal in advertising and politics. A clever manipulator of the masses will try to seduce those who blithely assume that the majority is always right. Also seduced by this appeal will be the insecure, who may be made to feel guilty if they oppose the majority or feel strong by joining forces with large numbers of other uncritical thinkers."
If anyone with a brain looks logically at conservative thinking, they come to realize that conservatives us fallacy logic reasoning on themselves to get themselves to believe anything and therefore get themselves to believe fantasy instead of reality. Most of this starts at a young age with people who don't want to take the time to think, study, read, or investigate anything through to it's actual real conclusion.
In fact, I would hasten to defy anyone that is reading this to look at the list of "informal fallacies" and ask yourself which one you haven't heard yourself say or think, before you started thinking critically. But with the conservative person, critical thinking is supposedly "liberal" and wrong minded, so they don't allow themselves, or others like them, to investigate anything purposely. As in the case of the earth being round, that was a long drawn out fight and when it comes to global maps, some still contain pictures of sea monsters and other disasters that one would face when they fell off the edge of "Flat World Earth".
In the case of mainstream conservative religions, when someone, even as a child, questions anything they are being told to swallow whole, that they are the ones who are in mortal danger and spiritually UNFIT if they don't HAVE FAITH and COME TO BELIEVE in something that logically doesn't have any proof or evidence and then they fall into using the logical fallacy that something that can't be proven to NOT EXIST therefore exists.
I might as well say, "Well you can't prove that there aren't fairies and unicorns just because YOU haven't seen one."
Also, ...
Some people who call themselves "liberals" are just as guilty of being idiots and that makes everyone who uses open minded critical thinking, the actual liberals, to be colored as idiots by conservatives, who comparatively consider themselves on a higher ground.
If you can't use facts and logic to prove your point, then you have no point. No matter if you call yourself liberal or conservative, make sure your facts are straight or you will make everyone who actually is liberal or conservative look like an idiot, because by declaring your taking their side, you have made yourself a representative of what they believe in. We probably, in critical thinking, should not even use labels like that but so many do.
Now, let's look at the difference in the definitions of the two personal character contexts.
First, the actual definitions of what liberal and conservative mean.
As per the dictionary;
[lib-er-uh l, lib-ruh l]
1. favorable to progress or reform, as in political or religious affairs.
2. (often initial capital letter) noting or pertaining to a political party advocating measures of progressive political reform.
3. of, pertaining to, based on, or advocating liberalism, especially the freedom of the individual and governmental guarantees of individual rights and liberties.
4. favorable to or in accord with concepts of maximum individual freedom possible, especially as guaranteed by law and secured by governmental protection of civil liberties.
5. favoring or permitting freedom of action, especially with respect to matters of personal belief or expression: (e.g. a liberal policy toward dissident artists and writers.)
6. of or pertaining to representational forms of government rather than aristocracies and monarchies.
7. free from prejudice or bigotry; tolerant: (e.g. a liberal attitude toward foreigners.)
14. a person of liberal principles or views, especially in politics or religion.
15. (often initial capital letter) a member of a liberal party in politics, especially of the Liberal party in Great Britain.

And now for the polar opposite:
[kuh n-sur-vuh-tiv] adjective
1. disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change.
2. cautiously moderate or purposefully low: (e.g. a conservative estimate.)
3. traditional in style or manner; avoiding novelty or showiness: conservative suit.
4. (often initial capital letter) of or pertaining to the Conservative party.
5. (initial capital letter) of, pertaining to, or characteristic of Conservative Jews or Conservative Judaism.
6. having the power or tendency to conserve or preserve.
7. Mathematics. (of a vector or vector function) having curl equal to zero; irrotational; lamellar.noun
8. a person who is conservative in principles, actions, habits, etc.
9. a supporter of conservative political policies.
10. (initial capital letter) a member of a conservative political party, especially the Conservative party in Great Britain.
11. a preservative.
And I beg you to ask yourself, "Which one defines the people who surge ahead with ideas and help the world, not just themselves, and which self-centeredly deny the rest of the world an inch of compromise, not looking to a possibility of their own selves maybe being wrong?
So, when you go out there into the world with your knowledge of facts and are confronted with someone else's ignorance, especially when their argument is that their ignorance matches facts, we must not walk away without saying WHY they are wrong, so we must arm ourselves with the truth.
It isn't easy being smarter, but it is more internally peaceful. I dare say, when you know what you base everything on  is based on facts and you can prove through sources you found the information at that you are right, sleeping at night and not wondering isn't always as easy as it could be initially, but it is better than sleeping like a baby based on blissful ignorance.

Concerning An Urgent Matter - Part 2 of the Ongoing Saga

Alrighty Now,
I sent an email to the asshole who decided to continue having an older veteran arrested repeatedly for attempting in his own way to feed the

homeless. You will notice that, in typical Republican fashion, he tries to "reframe" the issue instead of addressing it directly and apologizing or admitting that it was wrong to arrest the man. This is his reply.

Jack Seiler

4:55 AM (6 hours ago)
to me

Thanks for your input and for caring about the homeless. We truly appreciate the concern and respectful approach, and we recognize that this is a very difficult and emotional issue.

The City Commission did not realize that requiring the homeless be fed in safe, secure, sanitary and healthy conditions would be distorted by the media as an attack on the homeless. The City Commission did not ban feeding the homeless in the City of Fort Lauderdale and did not make it illegal to feed the homeless; the City Commission only regulated the location of those feedings. In fact, there are numerous locations where homeless feedings may be legally held in the City, including our downtown. You can read the ordinance online at our website:<>.

Further, the cycle of homeless and homelessness on the streets of Fort Lauderdale is unacceptable, and this City Commission will do everything possible to get them off the streets and into the right programs, to the appropriate facilities, and to the proper resources necessary to turn their lives around.

This City Commission also does substantial charitable work for the homeless here in South Florida, volunteer at the local homeless assistance center, contribute financially to assist homeless programs and benefits, and work on several successful homeless veterans programs and projects. You can find many of those programs listed on our website at<>.

Your assistance is also appreciated, and we welcome volunteers, partners, charitable contributions, donations, and all levels of support.

Best wishes and Happy Thanksgiving.

Additional Edit:  This was my reply to Jack Seiler's reply:
This was the typical Republican response. Try to "reframe the message" instead of addressing the problem. No one said anything about an attack on the homeless, you rationalizing dishonest whiner. The issue is arresting someone for doing something charitable because you think it's your job to qualify where people can help another struggling human being. Your treatment of the homeless is already on record. Your arresting an older veteran for doing something on his own without government interference, which I would like to add is something that your party whines so much about, claiming their selfishness has something to do with "the right manner of helping" instead of the fact that you want to restrict helping because you think someone not having any opportunities is somehow their fault.
You don't get to send me a form letter blanket rationalization and act like I am on your side on this. YOU need to quit thinking that homeless people should be treated by supervised restraint when it comes to being fed.
That is another issue.
You don't need to reply,
I am not in the mood to hear more excuses, WHEN YOU WERE WRONG, you are supposed to knock it off, not just make more excuses.

"Concerning An Urgent Matter", My Email to Mayor Jack Seiler

There is a meme circulating on Facebook about Mayor Jack Seiler who keeps having a veteran arrested for feeding homeless people in "his town". I opted to write him an email instead of a phone call to his office. This is what I wrote:
"...HI, Mayor,
My name is Steve but I am more well known on the internet as Arizona Mildman, blogger, YouTube Vlogger, and social media "top commenter" with a following on Twitter, as well. I am concerned, and wanted to share with you, about something I was notified about on Facebook today.
I read that you keep having a older veteran arrested for feeding homeless people.
Let me say this.
First, the veteran is within his rights to do charitable acts. Also, homeless people are not cats. They don't come back simply because you feed them. They are simply here to stay until conditions with the economy improve. I wish some of the homeless would go away, also, but that isn't going to happen until we undo the Ronald Reagan era completely and return all the mental patients to the asylums.
You should know that EVERYONE on the internet in social media like Facebook and Twitter is going to inundate your email and phone before long by letting you know how disgusting arresting this man is and how much of a lowlife they consider you for having someone arrest a man, whose last few pleasures in life include helping the less fortunate for any reason, no matter how much that you think you are right about it.
Your email and phone number are being circulated and if you change them they will just post those, also. Public servants as well as public figures of any kind can't hide anymore. As Donald Rumsfeld said after Abu Ghraib, "With the internet we have now, there are no more secrets."
I can assure you that if you keep it up you are going to get national attention that you don't want including people writing to the White House and the DOJ to find out if what you are doing can be stopped.
If you want your office to turn into something reminiscent of the Trayvon Martin scandal, then keep it up. Eventually ANONYMOUS will come after you and then you won't get anything to work in your entire computer network, (Just a thought/prediction, not a threat,) because they will do their own damage - but I am hearing the drums signalling that they are circling the wagons for an attack NOW.
Keep your head down because you are getting ready to become a famous villain in the public eye. (Probably not good for your career, either.)
Later,   ,,,"
and then my usual google signature,
I hope he gets the point,

My Latest Email To John McCain

I read something today that completely unnerved me and made me angry enough to want to hurt someone physically. I wrote this email message to John McCain on his "contact input" web page. I will post and share if he responds, as to what he has to say about it. With this email, I put the ball in his court. Considering the fact that the the Arizona Republic endorses him each year and they print editorials online, then I CAN make a stink for them if he doesn't comply with my request. Either he publicly denounces this asshole or I am going put him on the list of Republican congressmen that condone/endorse racism among their own party.
What I said was, "Incoming Nevada Assembly Speaker Ira Hansen of the Republican Party said in a statement publicly that, "...the relationship of Negroes and Democrats is truly a master-slave relationship. with the benevolent master knowing what's best for his simple minded darkies."

My Reply to Author Of Melanoid Nation about their Bill Cosby critique.

The article from Melanoid Nation about Bill Cosby can be seen at is an American Apartheid movement in the United States, whom would gladly have things as bad as South Africa was under British rule years ago, and that is the unfortunate part. Cosby did say some things like the fact that it is stupid to get killed over something trivial, in “The Pound Cake Speech”, and I understand it was a plea to get young black men to realize that they can’t do whatever they want, despite the rule of society and call it “cultural beliefs”. It was a plea to get them to understand that rules are there for a reason and no one in the rest of society will tolerate lawlessness. If this is considered, by this author, to be an “attack on black Americans”, then I disagree with that viewpoint. If a white comedian, for instance, Bill Maher, says that most of caucasian society has failed at something (I.E. immigration standards, racism, educational standards nationwide, healthy eating, intelligent views, religious mythology, etc.), no one jumps up to condemn him (And that would be have to be one who is at least an inwardly white supremacist and that can’t take criticism of their own stupidity.) for speaking out against his own race. Does anyone listen to Cosby and his speeches/pleas to black men as a society take root and make a difference? I doubt it. He is ridiculed as an “Uncle Tom” by people who do the exact wrong thing towards women and society that Bill talks about. Is that him being racist or them being defensive? I believe it is them being defensive about comments because his comments are taken by idiots/racists as permission to make judgements on other human beings based on race. The point is that no one in our society as a whole is going to excuse criminal behavior as a matter of “behavior by poor people who live in poverty that don’t have a way out”, and instead see it for what it is, criminal behavior. What is so wrong about that? If black people want to get away from being stereotyped as lazy and criminal (because most of them are just like everyone else) by racists, they need to quit excusing and rationalizing “the plight of” young people of their own race and deal with it realistically. There ARE lots of people in society who are poor. Some of them learn and become strong but many succumb to temptation to commit criminal acts and that includes members of ALL races. The fact that black men and women are arrested more often for the same things (usually non violent drug offenses) that everyone else seems to commit with impunity is a different issue and is being made public as a an awareness that the criminal justice system IS racially unbalanced in so many parts of the country. That is NOT the same issue.
When ALL people in this country understand that income inequality is a problem for ALL of us, especially to the poor, and do something about it, then we will come to understand that the matters of race are a false flag social construct that causes men and women to struggle with survival, that is what really needs to be addressed.
Who is true minority that is screwing this country’s economy and the environment up, including our educational system? RICH GREEDY PEOPLE. I don’t consider Mr. Bill Cosby one of those.

The American Media's (all of them) Biggest Myth

Do you remember the aftermath of the last presidential election, when the Republicans lost? Everyone of them was trying to talk about WHY THEY LOST, and came up with every reason but the truth. THEIR POLICIES SUCK and THEIR CANDIDATES SOUNDED STUPID ON TELEVISION because they were uninformed or lying, and basing every answer from questions thrown at them on Opinions and Talking Points, not on any real solutions or facts. Talking Points can hold water in a quick debate if people don't fact check them, themselves, right away (Which is almost impossible.).
BUT, if you try to use a talking point that is over a year old, the general public has already fact checked and debunked it about 3 months previously. Even the hard heads generally give up stupid answer talking points that are over 9 months old.
Young Democratic Voters didn't vote in the midterms because THEY NEVER DO LIKE THEY SHOULD, BECAUSE - they are under the impression that since the president is the "TOP GUY" in government that he runs congress and the supreme court, also. That is the myth perpetuated by lack of education.
I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY TIMES WE HAVE TO SAY THIS: Civics 101 - There are 3 parts of government, 1 Executive, 2 Legislative, 3 Judicial.  They act independently, but if you listen to our news media. ANYTHING THAT HAPPENS somehow is the president's fault, including who arrives at airports with an infectious disease.
UNLESS we get it through the media's heads that we won't put up with sensationalist bullshit anymore, then they will keep indoctrinating the uninformed at the whim of their corporate masters through fear, conjecture, conspiracy theories, and self-delusion. That last one is about the people who tell themselves something and won't let that thing go, the definition of delusion is:
"·lu·sion·al [dih-loo-zhuh-nl] adjective
1. having false or unrealistic beliefs or opinions
2. maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with facts, usually as a result of mental illness
That kind of sensationalist journalism is wrong for our country and for people who don't get enough information except that few minutes of TV or news radio, that is what they have to go by. We as a nation, need to tell the American media sources, especially supposed "conservatives", to either tell the truth or STFU, NOW!
Until we do, there will be no nation, no unity, no peace, no right or wrong, no common enemy, no common ally, no common ideology, and that theme was the idea that made this country successful, happy, and what other people admired and that has been gone since Eisenhower left office. We need truth in advertising and truth in journalism. Freedom of speech must be tempered with one ideal - TRUTH.
You are welcome to have your own opinion, but you can't have your own reality. Your ignorance, mythology, superstitions (including religious ones), and  conjecture based on opinions - don't equal knowledge facts.
AND, just because you have a large group of uninformed people who all want to believe (that is what faith means) a specific idea or ideology, that doesn't make it a fact or anywhere close to evidence, that only means there is a group of you who sound stupid because you are repeating someone else's propaganda or uniformed opinion.
THIS, is why the Red States politicians and conservative news shows want you ignorant, uneducated, and living desperately struggling on a daily basis, just barely having time to eat and sleep in between work shifts, is because they are all bought and paid for by the people who own the companies and corporations that you work for. Why do you think it is a good idea to leave that up to them. They can only decide based on profit margin, not on humanistic ideals.

My Letter To Another True Believer

I am really saddened by the midterm election results. If I hadn't voted early and taken my time to pick out and vote for the right candidates, help make "get out the vote" phone calls, and rallied around the candidates that I believe in, it wouldn't have bothered me so much, I guess.
Today I received an email from another person who helped fight the good fight and tried to campaign for the sake of educational revival here in this red state (Republicans always cut education spending first because they like having stupid people "under them".) - and progress of any kind in this state, who was a fellow volunteer at the Fred Duval campaign and I am going to delete her name but it went like this:

"...Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for your time during our final get out the vote weekend! You helped us reach out and ensure more votes. Unfortunately, as you know, we fell short in the end... it was a difficult year across the board.

We appreciate your efforts and hope we'll see you during a future election.

All the best,
(Name Deleted) "
And my reply to her was this:

"...Yes, but to no avail. I am so disappointed in the young people in our country that don't,  for some reason, allow themselves to understand the importance of the midterm elections. We need to reach them through their own form of media. Bill Clinton believes his appearance on MTV had a big effect. Comics and musicians did something called Rock The Vote, I was there. Hardly anyone tries during the midterms. This is the result. 2010 - the opening blast and take over of Libertarians and Tea Party who called themselves conservatives and Republicans. One is a bunch of selfish Ayn Rand fictional story believers and the other is a bunch of lunatic puppets who work, unknowingly for the Koch brothers and Koch Industries to ruin our environment, our democracy, and our economy. I find it hard not to want to give up and run away. We are faced with a nation of stupid and uninformed that are growing in numbers instead of facing reality. Conservative (propaganda) talk and fake news along with the overwhelming amount of ignorance (largely in the Red States) and under educated, uninformed, and angry low information less intelligent seeming individuals are being cultivated by low education and misinformation, coupled with the Religious Wrong who indoctrinate people to believe in fantasy misinformation through the stories of miracles and therefore getting normally rational and intelligent adults to be indoctrinated since youth in the belief of anything they tell them to believe. It has been used as a vehicle for politics for ages and was stepped up during the GW Bush administration reign of ignorance and fear.
Thank You for inviting me to fight the good fight but I am so disillusioned that I just want to run away. I want to find another country where the majority of people don't believe that incarcerating the mentally ill and poor people is the solution to poverty. I want to find another country where wages and the cost of living are commensurate with each other. I want to find another country in which I feel like I belong instead of being a voice in the wilderness that people consider foolish and idealistic because I believe that everyone should be treated equally no matter what and that the wealthy aren't allowed to act like our founding fathers did, only allowing wealthy white land owners to vote and owning slaves. When I look back at when slavery was legal in the United States and realize that the slave "masters" only had to afford housing, clothing, food, and enough medical care to keep the slaves just well enough to work, then, I can see a direct correlation between that and the way illegal immigrants and low wage workers here are treated today. For after all, if you work 2 or 3 jobs (12 to 16 hour days) now, and you can barely afford to survive, then - what is the difference?
Big Money, including campaigning needs to be taken out of the hands of advertising firms that sell us cigarettes and alcohol and everything else that is bad for us. John McCain and Russ Feingold pointed out long ago that even back then, it cost at least 25 million dollar to throw your hat (just to be considered for nomination in the advertising game) in the ring to be even a low level beginner as president. Barrack Obama changed the face of campaigning by asking everyone for 20 dollars instead of asking a handful of billionaires for millions. We believed in change for the better and this is how it ended up, through dark money, stupid sheep followers, and lazy people, especially the younger ones, who don't get out and vote. In my opinion, EVERY AMERICAN should be on a permanent early voters list (mail in ballot), if they are eligible to vote. Diebold voting machines have been hacked since previous to 2000 in GOP favor and we know it ( ). My only question now is "When is there going to be some real change?"
Sorry for the ranting,

When Are We Going To Wake The F**k Up?

I realize that the national news media is hard to ignore. I know that most people who practice their religions in America want to believe their minister, pastor, priest, rabbi, or spiritual leader in his opinions as if they were factual. So, how do we learn to use critical thinking in these situations and look at these from a different perspective?
Some may be right and some may be wrong, so, we have to stand outside the buzz of all the opinions, and look at the provable facts. There are usually so few among the relative issues that we don't know what to believe in most situations.
Right now there is a non-provable bunch of opinions going on in America about the Secret Service. We are readying to launch into a war (This is based on the opinions of war hawk generals in the Pentagon against another undefinable enemy like the Iraq war and Al Qaeda, which I heard Isis this morning described by some as Qaeda fighters, wtf?) and we are all wondering why a bunch of secret service agents and staff, who were UNDERFUNDED BY the GOP in congress, are having problems maintaining their previous amount of security before the defunding began.

Is this going to be another BENGHAZI scandal that amounts to human error initiated by lack of money to pay enough help to get the job done? Does that really amount to a serious question?

This is a distraction based on human fuckups, that the press is trying to misdirect us with.
1) They are not talking about the fact that the House of Representatives (controlled by the GOP scandal manufacturing department) defunded the Secret Service, the same way they did Embassy Security previous to Benghazi.
2) They are not talking about the fact that the whole Benghazi scandal, like the rest of  the manufactured scandals the GOP keeps coming up with to blame the president, who hasn't done ANYTHING wrong, is being accused of still, by stupid uninformed people who don't read retractions and anything admitting erroneous fictional news coverage of events that never happened.
3) They are NOT covering what we went through that most of the nation realizes was a mistake during the entire Bush administration, based on lies. Look at our lack of coverage of the fact that we were lied into two wars and that some in the underground media (The subcultures always define more of who we are as a nation.) are screaming at them, demanding to know why NO ONE is talking in print or on television or radio or cable news about the fact that the Bush wars were entered into, based on prefabricated non-actionable intelligence, on a lie, actually based on the fact that the U.S., specifically Donald Rumsfeld, brokered the deal to sell Saddam Hussein his chemical weapons and that was what they were trying to cover up before it got leaked, previous to Rumsfeld's resignation for "being ineffective in the position anymore".
4) They are not talking about the fact that lying, deceitful CEOs and other executives, for no reason other than unlimited greed, at Bank of America, Chase Bank, Goldman Sachs, Merrill Lynch, and others have not spent a day in jail after stealing money from our personal banking accounts, rendering most people's retirement accounts wasted and empty, and then after coming to the U.S. Government under the Bush administration TWICE to get the people whose money they stole, replaced,  and then instead paid themselves Golden Parachute bonuses, thinking their actions (should have but didn't) would get them fired, and then have never been held accountable by the Republicans in congress on the finance committee, even though people like Elizabeth Warren made it clear on the news in front of the whole world that the finance committee has NEVER DONE THEIR JOB when it comes to prosecution.
And now the people on the right, to distract from being wrong again, are trying to call the entire thing The Obama Bailouts and The Obama Economy, even though our president has turned it around the best he could, despite their obstruction, and we still don't have the jobs they promised us because they won't sign and agree to the American Jobs Act that would be another feather in the cap of the black man in the White House that they love to hate.

BUT NO, everyone is chasing the squirrel up the tree, just the way Fox News and the rest of the distractors (The GOP in the House of Representatives.) wanted you to while they defunded them.
Are you paying attention to the fact that the Koch brothers are trying to lie their way out of the facts confronting them about their pollution and buying of EPA officials that should get them sued, if not indicted and arrested? NO. Because you are the dog chasing the Secret Service up a the media distraction tree, instead of paying attention to the real issues.

1) Quit chasing the secret service distraction that the GOP doesn't want you to look anywhere but at it only, and ask yourself and them, "WTF happened to the funding for the Secret Service?"
2) Ask questions that are relevant: "Did they steal it to rationalize more tax breaks, like they did Benghazi?"
a) Why are they constantly insisting that we go to war in foreign nations, knowing we can't win and nothing will change? (As if the military industrial complex and the Koch brothers campaign donations weren't enough incentive.)
b) What is is it they are trying to change in the middle East? (Their religion or their politics because it has nothing to do with free elections, we already found that out when their security forces defected to the popular side in those countries.)
c) Are we still waging war on Arab/Islamic nations because they don't believe like we do, since that is what the "Crusades" was about and I don't think that has anything to do with freedom, democracy, or anything besides an excuse to take over their oil reserves.

You must remember what these (the one percent) millionaires and billionaires do with tax breaks. Like this illustration says, think about it:

Is America Ready For Another Liar in the White House?

I think the record is clear. The only 2 times that George H.W. Bush told the truth was the night he declared that alcoholism and addiction were diseases, undoing the myth that they had to do with character of the addicted person, AND - when he made the famous quote: "Sarah, if the American people ever find out what we have done, they would chase us down the street and lynch us.”
One son ruined our economy, our national discourse, our faith in government, and pretty much anything he touched, including our faith in anything Republican. He lied to get us into two wars to support his family and friends in the military industrial complex and still thinks it's humorous that we let him get away with it. The humorous part is that so many ignorant and uninformed Americans believe that all of his ills were part of the Obama administration, although they didn't start work in office until 2009, after all those things happened, under the watchful eyes of G.W. Bush. He was elected by the Supreme Court after voter fraud by his brother and the guys who hacked the Florida voting machines failed.
Most of the country quit using Diebold voting machines after the Rove/Bush team got away with hacking them twice, once in 2000 and again in 2004. And the son who was governor of Florida, fighting desperately for his brother to get into the White House, by any means necessary, Jeb Bush. Here are some links explaining what kind of honesty he has:
Jeb Bush Lying:

Ted Cruz and Ham

We wouldn't buy Ted Cruz and Ham,
Seperately or in a can,

About his reputation he doesn't give a damn,
Delusional he thinks I am,

If he believes that I buy his lies,
He must believe I'm not real wise,

He thinks we are all morons, true,
He believes we care what he wants to do,

He thinks we don't know his only agenda,
Is to obstruct any progress through constant referenda,

His only days in congress should end,
My deepest implorement I wish to send,

To all of you who are voters in Texas,
Recall him before his brain cells form a nexus,

And he figures out like John McCain did,
You can get the job for life - if you act like you're brain dead.

Let's Just Move On

This is in response to the article in "The New Yorker" by Andy Borowitz, entitled, "Largest Climate-Change March in History Unlikely to Convince Idiots", which is, unfortunately, quite true, despite the fact that Mr Borowitz, a very funny writer and author, is making light of the situation.
Mark Twain (Samuel Clemens) once said, “Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”
I contend that the time to allow ignorant people to debate the climate change facts (or for that matter, any facts) is long over. There is no greater proof of the quote by Isaac Asimov about the culture of ignorance in the United States than, the supposed debate over climate change. As I have posted that quote repeatedly whenever I am faced with the wilful ignorance of regressives, and it goes,
"There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there always has been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.' "
The same people who insist that "Critical thinking is against God's will." need to be ignored and we need to move on.
Here is my suggestion:
We need about 4 states to start with - that go completely green energy so the rest of the nation can see how easy it is and then they will eventually follow suit. The American progressives never before have waited for the stupid of our society to understand. We just went ahead and changed and waited for the dinosaurs that call themselves conservatives (but are actually regressives) to eventually stare at the floor, and instead of admitting they were wrong, sheepishly follow along and then, eventually, try to act like it was their idea all along.
Here is what I have done in the past. I acted like they gave me an idea through misquoting something they said, that was similar to the actual truth. I thanked them for their idea and said I would have never thought of it myself. Then I watched and waited as they returned to their usual smug attitude and acted like they were superior, since that is what they think anyway. But, and this is the point I wish to make here, I didn't wait for them to understand, I just acted like I assumed they already did understand, making them have to regroup in order to keep from admitting they were wrong and losing face in their own minds because that is the whole reason that they about new ideas to begin with, because they think they already have all the answers. It isn't their fault, they have been indoctrinated to believe that and therefore lack critical thinking skills, because if you think you already have all the answers, why would you bother to seek for truth in new and unknown avenues in the world?

The Political Epidemic - The Wrong Wing

I wish to address something that I am really feeling tonight, a certain soul sickness that comes from being ignored and watching other people live in a state of oblivion or willful ignorance. I live in the state of Arizona (hence my psuedonym) where many people are SO SICK OF not sick from, our news service whose name wreaks of the idiocy one might call dog whistle political language. One of the main reasons other states consider us insane in Arizona, is because of the way our newspaper tries to "Frame The Issues" that are vital to this country. The name is "The Arizona Republic". They also own several other news sources including on the web, such as .
This news paper (advocacy journalism under the guise of editorial, instead of actual news), for God's sake, endorses John McCain every midterm, over and over, despite the fact that he has been wrong repeatedly.
They might as well go back to the original name, which was, The Arizona Republican. That was Mr. Pulliam. Let me give you a little history for those of you who are not old natives like myself, and/or haven't followed the paper's political history.
From their own website, "...Debuting May 19, 1890, as The Arizona Republican, the newspaper was created as a sounding board to challenge the biased political beliefs of the established Arizona newspapers.  (They have always been extreme Right Wing Advocacy News, not reporting what we say, but telling us what to think.) Because of political challenges, Governor Lewis Wolfley and his attorney general, Clark Churchill, supported the creation of a newspaper providing a balance of political viewpoints and ideals. (NO they didn't! Wolfley spent so much time infighting for Republican extremism, it led to his resignation. Read the Wikipedia profile on him, from the link above.)
The Republican brought news of a busy, changing world to the Arizona Territory and covered the founding of Phoenix as the third and permanent capital of the Arizona Territory in 1889. From infancy to adulthood, Phoenix and The Republic matured together to establish a standard for community, commercial and political support and involvement.
From the beginning, the focus of the newspaper was to make the Arizona Territory a better place to live. (For rich people and corporations.) The fight for statehood, achieved in 1912, was one of the newspaper's greatest victories.
Since 1915, the newspaper has been the largest-circulation newspaper in Arizona.
(The name change:) The Arizona Republican ceased to exist when it was renamed The Arizona Republic on Nov. 11, 1930. Six days later, its owners bought the Phoenix Evening Gazette (later named The Phoenix Gazette) and the Arizona Weekly Gazette (now the Arizona Business Gazette).
(Then the real Republican strong arming begins.)
Pulliam buys the newspapers
On Oct. 25, 1946, Eugene C. Pulliam, one of the last of the self-made newspaper publishers, bought The Arizona Republic, The Phoenix Gazette and the Arizona Weekly Gazette for $4 million. Pulliam then organized the three newspapers into Phoenix Newspapers, Inc., a subsidiary of Central Newspapers, Inc., based in Indianapolis, Ind.
(I met some of the old Linotype operators who were coming to me to learn lithographic printing press operation in the eighties. They said Pulliam would meet face to face with his employees 2 times a year. He would walk up and shake their hands, slipping them a crisp new 50 dollar bill as their Christmas Bonus. The other time was election day, when he would shake their hand as they went out the door to walk to the polls downtown and told each one of them to vote Republican.)
During the 1960s, The Republic continued its focus on improving Arizona when the newspaper fought for clean air. In the 1970s, the newspaper exposed fraud in the sale of desert land by people connected to organized crime.
Recently, the Republic, once again, endorse John McCain for Senate.  This is a senator who has been consistently wrong on every issue since I can remember, and when he is proved wrong, he changes sides, and instead of apologizing for being wrong, he goes right ahead as if the wrong position was always what he was against and keeps stating the right position as if that was what he said all along.
Years ago, during the days of the late Reverend James Falwell, I started calling his flock that called themselves the "Religious Right" what they truly are, "the religious wrong".
Today I wish to ask you all to continue the trend that is sweeping (exaggeration there) Facebook (maybe slowly), and instead of calling those on the right "The Right Wing", I suggest we continue with the new term that will degrade and perhaps make them quit using apples and oranges terms to describe fearfulness, hate, and bigotry, and call them what they truly have become, "The Wrong Wing".
Thank You, and...
Have a wonderful day, night, or anytime,
Arizona Mildman

"The Truly Entitled"

I just saw a meme on Facebook which I immediately wish to give the author and poster, credit for, this wasn't my idea but I want to explain in my own words, for anyone who doesn't understand, just what it means to me. Here is the Header and Meme:

First, for those who aren't aware completely what the term fascism really means, then, I would defer to the writing "The Fourteen Defining Characteristics of Fascism" by Dr. Lawrence Britt, and please read the first  three closely, as it refers to the Meme's intent posted above. They are,
"...1. Powerful and Continuing Nationalism - Fascist regimes tend to make constant use of patriotic mottos, slogans, symbols, songs, and other paraphernalia. Flags are seen everywhere, as are flag symbols on clothing and in public displays.
2. Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights - Because of fear of enemies and the need for security, the people in fascist regimes are persuaded that human rights can be ignored in certain cases because of "need." The people tend to look the other way or even approve of torture, summary executions, assassinations, long incarcerations of prisoners, etc.
3. Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause - The people are rallied into a unifying patriotic frenzy over the need to eliminate a perceived common threat or foe: racial , ethnic or religious minorities; liberals; communists; socialists, terrorists, etc."
which all are rampant in Republican campaign speak, read it yourself, all the time they spend trying to say (Number 3) that the president or anyone else they oppose isn't "the right kind" of person, eligible through birth, etc. (While backing Ted Cruz who isn't eligible to be president through the Natural Born Citizens Act.), like them, to represent them because they want to get reelected, so they champion themselves as the defenders of the constitution while tramping all over it, trying to deny half the population the right to vote. The polite term is disenfranchised, but the correct term is "screwed over by corrupt legislators".
AND, does anyone remember the stink they raised the first time Barack Obama stepped onto the national stage and wasn't wearing an American Flag Lapel Pin? (See number one.)
That is truly what the "entitlement" programs are and they are for the ones who consider themselves "aristocracy" and entitled, while calling anyone with an education that doesn't buy their bullshit, "the elite".
As I said to someone who asked recently, they are SELF DELUSIONAL. They delude themselves into believing that they are truly more than human (They believe this because they are told that they are "the right kind of" religion, skin color, national origin, sexual orientation, etc. by leaders of the "aristocracy societies".)  instead of what they say, which is that others are less than human. And, as we all know by now, what delusional means... de·lu·sion·al [dih-loo-zhuh-nl] adjective maintaining fixed false beliefs even when confronted with facts, usually as a result of mental illness (Which means the present form of "conservatism" is a form of mental illness and there is no treatment for that illness that doesn't require that they, the sick ones, be confronted on their sickness instead of allowed to continue being crazy by using the rationalization that "They are entitled to their opinion" because hate and loathing are emotional responses, not opinions. Just like the diseases of alcoholism and addiction, being able to function and becoming successful in their own community, doesn't keep one from being ill. The disease knows no boundaries.) Then they repeat completely ignorant ideas and smile and act like they expect everyone to smile and nod agreement while most of us are shaking our heads and wondering what the hell they are thinking.
The supposed conservative news stations and conservative editorialists are nothing more than news trolls who spread hate and loathing and unrest in the United States for their own profit's sake. Remember, the next time you hear your crazy neighbor or relative spouting this stupidity, let them know in no uncertain terms, "That isn't opinion, that is hate and loathing."
Thank You,
Have a wonderful day,
The Arizona Mildman

Superstition and Ignorance

Today I am asking something new of everyone who reads this. Please educate yourself in what is going on in the world and decide what effects you. Please, from a standpoint of being knowledgeable, make informed decisions based on your own research. And the second part of this is, DO NOT let other people who believe in superstition and fear let their thinking have even the slightest bit of respect being shown by you because when you do, you are condoning ignorance and superstition and right now we can't let ourselves allow that. We must insist on education of everything in science and nature to be a matter of public record and not allow anything to distract from that.
In the spectrum of everyone else's lives, we must deal with all societies and the evolution of knowledge. A society, as defined in the dictionary, is: "... an organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes."  That is where psychologists and sociologists differ. Only one of them takes into account that a society is not the giant microcosm of people on the planet but is a small organized group. So, we live in a mixture of many societies that all supposedly have to live, as it also says in another part of the dictionary, as "...a highly structured system of human organization for large-scale community living that normally furnishes protection, continuity, security, and a national identity for its members" (as in American society.).
I refer once again to the quote from Isaac Asimov, the science fiction writer and philosopher (See what Ayn Rand started?) that goes: "“There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.”
What Asimov didn't define was what types of ignorance that he was talking about. I contend that in our lives, we have to be the ones to live this life to the best of our abilities and that would include the parts about "community living that normally furnishes protection, continuity, security, and a national identity for it's members."
In order to do that successfully we must become a national entity and that is intolerable about ignorance being touted as something worthwhile or to respect. We must wipe the ignorant while dangerous quote from our vocabulary that says,  "You have a right to your opinion." Ignorant opinions can kill. But some people imply that opinion and knowledge are the same thing. That myth must be debunked. That is incorrect because if your opinion is based on ignorance or superstitions (no matter if the superstitions are supported by numbers of people) instead of knowledge, then it is worthless. That implies that any society contains members who unanimously agree on everything and that is incorrect, as well. So, how do we define the proper way to look at things? What is the bottom line?
Ignorance and superstitions, of any kind, are not worthy of being respected as opinions for that exact reason.

There Isn't An Immigration Debate

OK, there really isn't a real debate over illegal aliens because the only people who actually make the law who talk about it are LYING. As long as this state is run by the GOP it will NOT EVER CHANGE and even though the Latino population is in the majority here, they are either afraid or too lazy to vote. They aren't the only ones too lazy to vote. In 2010, when President Obama was first looking that the second year his first term, voted in by YOUNG PEOPLE who didn't understand how laws are made. Those same young people didn't get off their asses and vote during the midterms because they didn't realize that voting for a progressive president only works when you vote for progressive legislators AS WELL.
First, I love being the one to say this time, Arizona is NOT the craziest state in the United States. They are crazy but that is because the voters here sit on their asses. Some of the laws and the subsequent LAW MAKERS who legislated that nonsense ARE or WERE CRAZY. Why? Because Arizonans voted a bunch of morons into office because of their campaign promises on issues which we now know are non-issues? Only partially, the main reason is that the people who don't want crazy running the state, didn't bother to go vote. That begs the question, where is the real debate on "Immigration"? Which also begs to be answered, "Only in an election year and it is only another non-issue that politicians can't do anything about without being an IDIOT."
Another thing is, this question: "When did breaking the law become acceptable?" Activists have done that for ages, but only when the law was so unfair that they knew they would get a group of fans who wouldn't let them stay in jail. For instance, the Civil Rights movement and the Freedom Marchers who went to jail, had dogs and firehouses turned on them, some of them were hanged, but they knew they were right and finally the country caved. They broke NO LAWS or even presented a violent defense against these atrocities, knowing that someday, their ancestors wouldn't have to live in the anti-humane manner most of them had been treated like.
Henry David Thoreau (July 12, 1817 – May 6, 1862used to go to jail every year because the state of Massachusetts wouldn't abolish slavery. He was the first American active tax strike activist towards his own government. He was also the local school teacher. Every year the townspeople would pay his taxes, he would be released from jail, and he would yell at them for paying the taxes, asking them in earnest, "Don't you realize that I am trying to make a statement?"
He wrote that he found it humorous that he was being fed, clothed, and housed in a stone cubicle, all paid for by other people's taxes, for not being responsible enough to pay HIS taxes. He was protesting against something that was unfair and was willing to suffer for it. Eventually the majority agreed and slavery was abolished but that was a long while and a civil war afterwards.
The solution? When you see something that is unfair, change the law. How do you do that? Write to your politicians and tell them to change it. If they don't change it, elect new politicians when their term is over OR just recall them. BUT, if you are smart, you will make sure you are asking for something that is doable and not just some whiny one issue problem that you have championed and that isn't a matter of it being a political hoax that some politicians toss around at election time, like "family values" and "right to life", that those same politicians never really do anything about but use to get elected every end of their term.
I would also hasten to mention that in ANY country in the world, if you show up a refugee, then, they have laws and departments to deal with you when you are fleeing oppression or torture. But, if you try to illegally enter without permission and a visa, you are thrown in jail, if you live through the arrest by the border patrol. I mention that last part because if you drive past the border towns in Mexico, which most people don't, they will see that there is a checkpoint guarded by the Federales. IF you don't have a visa, they will tell you to turn around. If you resist they just kill you. Yes, shoot you to death. BUT, when they escape into our country illegally, some have started saying because some poet named Emma Lazarus wrote a poem entitled the "Other Colossus" about the Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island that was auctioned off merely to pay for the stand the plaque, sanctioned by the "Arts Commission" of New York could be placed on the statue. In other words, it wasn't even legally put there by anyone but the Art Commission and has NOTHING TO DO WITH United Stated immigration laws, SO STOP BRINGING IT UP AS AN EXCUSE TO BREAK THE LAW. This law, I might add is something that we have developed whole departments to enforce (ICE, Homeland Security, Customs and Immigration, etc.).
NOW, when Joe Arpaio enforces our immigration laws, he isn't being an asshole, he is being a sheriff. He is enforcing the laws of Arizona that Arizona citizens seem to approve of because they voted for the people who wrote them. IF THEY DON'T LIKE THE LAW, THEY NEED TO HAVE IT CHANGED, YOU DON'T JUST BITCH AT THE GUY THAT YOU HIRED, WHOSE JOB IT IS TO ENFORCE THE LAW.
AND WHEN IT COMES TO ILLEGAL ALIENS, They are NOT immigrants. Immigrants MIGRATE into other countries through the use of immigration laws and application for citizenship. And the media magic rationalizing term some use (made up by lawyers for the press), UNDOCUMENTED, is nonsense. They didn't lose their paperwork. They were born in undesirable conditions and thought they would be better off illegally crossing into the United States. Most of them, despite the rhetoric of most politicians and slave labor traffickers, don't want to become American citizens, they just want to work or steal here and then send the money home, tax free. For those of you who want to argue that YOU BELIEVE they are paying income taxes, I have two things to say, beyond just the fact that you are GULLIBLE.
A) I have talked to many of them and they are the ones who don't care about laws. They were raised in a land where whatever you want to do ILLEGAL is okay as long as you pay the police before you break the law. So they expect to act the same way here. THEY KNEW THEY WERE COMMITTING AN INTERNATIONAL FELONY WHEN THEY CAME HERE AND DECIDED TO BE A FELON. To those of you want that here, let them live in your house, in your neighborhood, etc. for two weeks and I guarantee most of you will change your minds.
B) Any of them could have applied for immigration status and become citizens legally. Ronald Reagan even provided a gateway for amnesty for hundreds of thousands (who would have been able to help bring more in) and they REFUSED to go the legal route. And the other myths about them wanting to be a citizen: They don't take jobs no one else wants. I have worked in those jobs myself for years (everything from picking fruit to construction in the Arizona) and they take those jobs because they can and they don't get charged income taxes. To do that one has to have a Social Security Number and they can't get one of those without committing Identity Theft, another felony.
So, if you want open borders with every low life, drug trafficker, human trafficker, and terrorist walking straight into the U.S. to do more damage on us than we already have, change the law. But I don't think the majority of Americans, given the real circumstances that are laid out by reality and history, are going to go along with it. You aren't the champion of civil and human rights violations, you are the rationalizing agents of Felons. Congratulations, you finally got suckered by someone smarter than you, and they are the illegal trafficking business outlying community. They are the lawyers, the traffickers, and the people (including contractors) who illegally hire these people for shit wages, basically conducting a slave trade. They play both sides of the law so they don't get arrested. They get the most liberal minded part of our society to look the other way on their illegal slave trade and trafficking for that trade, while whining that they are being put upon for providing refuge for these poor "immigrants". They pocket the money, praying every second that you never listen and change the law, because if you did, several things would happen. All the worst elements would come through the border and the people who they are now able to control would legally have to right to work for a decent wage with benefits. Some of the worst elements of our society would move next door to them and they REALLY after all those years of dealing with "those people" don't want that. And the main reason they don't want that, IS ... that it would cut them out of the picture altogether.
And YOU aren't being liberal when you ask for amnesty and open borders, you are being a dupe and making real liberals look stupid.

Today on Facebook

Today a Facebook friend (someone I follow) posted something that I found interesting;

"...Driving near my home in 108 degree heat with my 16 yr old son, traffic abruptly stopped. In my Avalanche I was able to see over the next car and in the intersection 6-7 cars ahead where a homeless man had fallen and was struggling to get up. He repeatedly fell onto the molten asphalt trying to crawl to the median. People were cursing and blowing their horns as they swerved around him. I passed traffic and then blocked the center lane and exited my truck to help him. A "Scott Roofing" truck did the same from the other direction. We helped him to a shade spot by the Circle K sign and called 911. We were both ridiculed and shamed for our actions. Our society has become perverse in it 's self-centered detachment. He was drunk, dirty terrified and had shit himself. HE WAS A HUMAN BEING AND HE NEEDED HELP. I am grateful, but in tears that my son had to witness such coldheartedness. What the "FUCK" are we becoming?

In a country where we fund the killing of thousands for (in my opinion) sport and for a few, profit - in order to dictate policy and religion to people who were obviously getting along without us for centuries, but could use one tenth that money to help people like the man you tried to save, I admit it is disgusting.
(The Flip Side, although I am not rationalizing callousness.)
I also have, from the prospective of someone in the recovery community, seen thousands of people who refuse help. leaving them at the mercy of the weather, the conditions of the street, and the callousness of people who don't care, because they prefer that to living with any form of discipline and rules, some because of addiction to drugs or alcohol, but there is help if they want it. The mentally ill were released from institutions where they would have been forced to live if Ronald Reagan wasn't trying to save face with fiscal conservatives for all his spending. In order for anything to change, we must educate the public but that seems impossible in an environment where the poor and disabled are said to be the problem, as if they decided one day to be a blight on humanity and how much fun it would be to suffer, to mentally absolve our local wealthy people of their responsibility to give back to the community.
Ayn Rand, public lunatic that she was, in truth only a fiction writer who became rich acting like she believed her own fictional fantasy, to audiences who paid to hear her tell them how selfishness was a good thing, would be rejoicing in this time of the ANTI altruistic and PRO greediness era of the actual elite in our society, and to see the all consuming self gratification and greed that has stricken our society.
My suggestion is, don't be disgusted with others, continue to be an example of good will toward man.
We can ALL use the lesson. And in case no one else on earth said it, "Thank You."
