The Moral Majority Vs The Real Majority

Those conservatives who for years, have considered themselves on some form of moral high ground over issues like misogyny, racism, and anti-gay bigotry, who have also tried to hide it, as Sinclair Lewis said, wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross are now being seen through by most of Americans.

The entire Northeast and several other states have struck down bans on gay marriage. Even Rick Santorum tried to backpedal, after saying that his party had 'lost control' of marriage altogether, then added that today it is seen as "...just another romantic relationship between two people", to which most of us wonder, "So, what the hell is it, then?"
And in my opinion, I have a reason to be proud of some in America. They told the world that they were NO LONGER GOING TO EXCUSE RACISM. Not only was the owner of the Clippers fined 2.5 million dollars for making racist remarks, he was banned from the NBA. Then, recently, police commissioner Robert Copeland, who made racist remarks aimed at the president, was forced to resign because public sentiment is not what it used to be. Political leaders and residents of Wolfeboro had called on Copeland to resign. Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney also spoke out against "the vile epithet." Yes, Mr. Romney and it was vile when they used it in your campaign in the Southern states, also.
I don't know if I can even see this as a light at the end of the tunnel but recent polls suggest that younger people, in droves, are looking questioningly at everything conservatives had held as "issues" for years and seeing that most of them really meant nothing but were actually dog-whistle political language with racist undertones, that got them votes in the past.
Some people, the ones with a brain and common sense, are finally, at least starting to, react by not looking the other way and saying with their actions that discrimination isn't okay. That song, "It's been a long time coming, but change gonna' come", seems like it is finally becoming true. It is just a brief glance at what it should be, considering that in 1964, that was FIFTY YEARS AGO, damn it, L.B.J. signed the "American Civil Rights Act" into law. Sam Cooke made that song famous in 1963, do you wonder what he was talking about? As some have said repeatedly, some will have to die before that anti-humanistic sentiment will die along with them. And we all have a choice. Do we want to progress mentally and emotionally without some extra stumbling blocks that anti cultural difference bigotry keeps holding us back? OR, do we want to live in a world where diversity is embraced and everyone else is just another human being? I will pick the latter, thanks.
And to those of you who have joined me in this journey to embrace the new world where someday, hopefully, bigotry will be looked at as a mental defect or some delusional anger issue, Thank You.

LMAO, Wait 'Til You Hear This S**t!

Hi everyone,
Hey, Some of you may remember the other day I posted my outrage towards Senator Stacey Campfield who compared Obamacare to the holocaust. He actually sent me a reply which was much whining and trying to blame me for not understanding his intent. If you missed that you can read it here: http://dumbargument.blogspot.com/2014/05/my-email-to-senator-stacey-campfield-of.html

Here was his reply:

> From: sen.stacey.campfield@capitol.tn.gov
> To: arizonamildman@live.com
> Subject: Re: The Affordable Care Act
> Date: Fri, 9 May 2014 12:18:08 +0000

> I regret that some people miss the point of my post. It was not to offend. It was to warn. To draw attention to Obamacare and the slippery slope that I see occurring in the lives of myself, my constituents, and the rest of the country with the continued taking of freedom by the federal government.

> In no way was my post meant to diminish or detract from the pain, suffering and loss of human life that occurred during this dark time in human history. Instead the post was meant to draw attention to the loss of freedom that we are currently experiencing. I stand by my steadfast opposition to Obamacare.

> My position and record on the sacredness of human life and protecting that life speaks for itself. 300 million Americans are at risk from government bureaucrats deciding who should be given life saving medications and who should be denied. Every citizen now faces the possibility of their tax dollars going to pay for a government funded abortion. At no point in our history have we ever faced a federal government and administration with a lower regard for human life, and that is something that I cannot and will not allow to go unchallenged.

> I will continue to stand up against the government takeover of the nations healthcare. I will continue to support freedom and life.

> Stacey Campfield

And Here Is My Reply to that ignorance:

No, it was to warn the uninformed to be scared to death of something that doesn't exist. How does a website where people sign up for healthcare and the law now regulates insurance companies. How is that dangerous to customers?
That was a stupid thing to say and you should apologize instead of arguing that WE DON"T UNDERSTAND because we do understand that you were LYING. STOP IT.
What else could comparing the holocaust to a the Affordable Care Act accomplish but to try to scare people who don't know better into supporting you and voting for LIARS in your party like you are.
There is NO COMPARISON except in your feeble brain.
Goodbye, Stacey, you are a loser and outed yourself as a big fat liar.

My Burning Question For Today

Today, like a lot lately, I opened my mail and had to "unsubscribe" from different mailing lists. I was part of the 'CAN-SPAM' movement years ago to get rid of spam (unsolicited commercial email or U.C.E.) which means since the 'CAN-SPAM ACT' that bans spammers from spamming your email, applies to campaign donations beggars. The quatro-annual begging for dollar campaign that goes on pre-election does two things. This year it added many emails containing emotional pleas designed to gain empathy from the reader.
My favorite is the one that asks for money to "help keep money out of politics" by adding more money to politics because, of course, how many campaign contributions we collect means we win, right??? If you think so, ask Karl Rove about that one. Last presidential election, he had collected several billion dollars (maybe trillions) from people like the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson (the main reason Republicans want to start a war with anyone who confronts Israel on their terrorist actions) and other people who don't even live in this country, but make money off of Americans fighting with each other and having our government not work like it's supposed to, and it didn't work. Karl Rove, like Fox News, tries to "sell" the uninformed on political platforms that they have NO IDEA about how they work. Remember that election in high school where the most campaigning won  because the Jock who was actually a hated bully had a campaign manager who told you that he would somehow magically change into a person who cared about something besides his own interests and assured you that EVERYONE who mattered (which you assumed meant if you didn't vote for him, then you didn't matter) was going to vote for him and the weak minded all signed up and voted for that guy? Karl Rove assumes the majority of the American people can still be lied into believing that the candidate he supports is really the most popular, despite that the guy comes on television and says he doesn't care about the disabled, veterans, single parents (not just moms), and others who are being paid so little by their employers that they CAN'T donate millions to his campaign. You might all remember that 47 percent that the Republican Party doesn't want you to remember that they don't care about. That isn't actually forty seven percent of people, that is 47 percent of the money spent on political campaigns in any given year is "independent" and independent voters can be swung any direction with candidates who actually prove to them that they will work to make the government work as if they CARE about them.
The Republicans have resorted to telling some of their candidates to run as Democrats this election, so be VERY careful who you donate money to. They have told contributors on some websites that they were Democrats and lied to collect campaign contributions. It comes down to the fact that, not only don't they run on real issues, they run on lies and things that they know they can't deliver. They are never going to overturn Roe vs Wade but they campaign on it, while in reality land, those politicians who grew up in an era where young girls basically committed suicide rather than face giving birth, trying to end the babies life with a wire hanger and young girls will continue to do so when it is illegal again, know no one in their right mind wants to ban legal safe abortions. But it sure makes a great stump speech for people who no one would want to see EVER having reproduced.

Remember when they lost? It made Karl Rove do things we thought he always should have, like stutter and act completely insecure and unsure of what his reality, which most of us know isn't the same one we live in, based on facts, meant anymore. You can actually see that again here:

I just realized that I have been spelling Megyn Kelly's name wrong for a long time. This is an example of what I mean. I know that admitting that immediately and correcting it immediately is what I should do. Instead, the GOP and conservatives in general, seem to think they best action to take when they realize they are wrong is to insist that everyone else is wrong and keep wearing their mistake like a shield during any further confrontations. (Does the word "Benghazi" come to mind?)
Please remember, people like this live in a world of fear based insecurity. When you won't listen to them they insist harder that they are right until you completely laugh them out of the room. Remember that next time one of them starts going on and on, being real self confident about something because they heard it on rightwing propaganda. Don't get angry (or at least don't act angry) take your time, take a deep breath, remember what planet you are on and LAUGH YOUR ASS OFF AT THEM, because if you get angry, the person who is wrong has an excuse to tell you that YOU are the one that's being an asshole. If you laugh at them they only can have one reaction.
We already know that I had written a whole post previously about non-issues that Republicans run on and dog whistle political language and if you need to review those things and don't want to look through my whole blog again, then you can go to http://dumbargument.blogspot.com/2014/01/a-lesson-in-conservative-political.html OR http://dumbargument.blogspot.com/2014/05/the-abortion-argument.html

The Abortion Argument

Once again, people who have no idea what their own spiritual book, the bible, says about a subject but they try to use a convoluted description of their interpretation and tell us 'what it is supposed to mean'. The Talmud condones and actually gives instructions on how, when, and who to kill. The old testament gives us many ideas of what they mean, exactly, if you read the whole book. Here are the examples I have found:

Genesis 22:1-24
After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, “Abraham!” And he said, “Here am I.” He said, “Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you.” So Abraham rose early in the morning, saddled his donkey, and took two of his young men with him, and his son Isaac. And he cut the wood for the burnt offering and arose and went to the place of which God had told him. On the third day Abraham lifted up his eyes and saw the place from afar. Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.” ...

Judges 11:31
Then whatever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Ammonites shall be the Lord's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.”

Exodus 13:11-16
“When the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanites, as he swore to you and your fathers, and shall give it to you, you shall set apart to the Lord all that first opens the womb. All the firstborn of your animals that are males shall be the Lord's. Every firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. Every firstborn of man among your sons you shall redeem. And when in time to come your son asks you, ‘What does this mean?’ you shall say to him, ‘By a strong hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, from the house of slavery. For when Pharaoh stubbornly refused to let us go, the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both the firstborn of man and the firstborn of animals. Therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all the males that first open the womb, but all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.’ ...

Ezekiel 20:25-26
Moreover, I gave them statutes that were not good and rules by which they could not have life, and I defiled them through their very gifts in their offering up all their firstborn, that I might devastate them. I did it that they might know that I am the Lord.

Leviticus 27:28-29
“But no devoted thing that a man devotes to the Lord, of anything that he has, whether man or beast, or of his inherited field, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted thing is most holy to the Lord. No one devoted, who is to be devoted for destruction from mankind, shall be ransomed; he shall surely be put to death.

Exodus 22:29
“You shall not delay to offer from the fullness of your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to me.

Exodus 13:1-2
The Lord said to Moses, “Consecrate to me all the firstborn. Whatever is the first to open the womb among the people of Israel, both of man and of beast, is mine.”

2 Kings 23:20-25
And he sacrificed all the priests of the high places who were there, on the altars, and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem. And the king commanded all the people, “Keep the Passover to the Lord your God, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant.” For no such Passover had been kept since the days of the judges who judged Israel, or during all the days of the kings of Israel or of the kings of Judah. But in the eighteenth year of King Josiah this Passover was kept to the Lord in Jerusalem. Moreover, Josiah put away the mediums and the necromancers and the household gods and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might establish the words of the law that were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the Lord. ...

Numbers 31:25-31 (This also speaks to the actual amount the bible says about the proper tithing amount being in the bible, and was actually having to do with tenth share pledges in Europe after the Crusades, as ten percent: "...one out of five hundred".)
The Lord said to Moses, “Take the count of the plunder that was taken, both of man and of beast, you and Eleazar the priest and the heads of the fathers' houses of the congregation, and divide the plunder into two parts between the warriors who went out to battle and all the congregation. And levy for the Lord a tribute from the men of war who went out to battle, one out of five hundred, of the people and of the oxen and of the donkeys and of the flocks. Take it from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest as a contribution to the Lord. ...

(Killing in the name of God.)
2 Samuel 1:1-27
After the death of Saul, when David had returned from striking down the Amalekites, David remained two days in Ziklag. And on the third day, behold, a man came from Saul's camp, with his clothes torn and dirt on his head. And when he came to David, he fell to the ground and paid homage. David said to him, “Where do you come from?” And he said to him, “I have escaped from the camp of Israel.” And David said to him, “How did it go? Tell me.” And he answered, “The people fled from the battle, and also many of the people have fallen and are dead, and Saul and his son Jonathan are also dead.” Then David said to the young man who told him, “How do you know that Saul and his son Jonathan are dead?” ...

Judges 11:29-40
Then the Spirit of the Lord was upon Jephthah, and he passed through Gilead and Manasseh and passed on to Mizpah of Gilead, and from Mizpah of Gilead he passed on to the Ammonites. And Jephthah made a vow to the Lord and said, “If you will give the Ammonites into my hand, then whatever comes out from the doors of my house to meet me when I return in peace from the Ammonites shall be the Lord's, and I will offer it up for a burnt offering.” So Jephthah crossed over to the Ammonites to fight against them, and the Lord gave them into his hand. And he struck them from Aroer to the neighborhood of Minnith, twenty cities, and as far as Abel-keramim, with a great blow. So the Ammonites were subdued before the people of Israel. ...

Judges 11:1-40
Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty warrior, but he was the son of a prostitute. Gilead was the father of Jephthah. And Gilead's wife also bore him sons. And when his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jephthah out and said to him, “You shall not have an inheritance in our father's house, for you are the son of another woman.” Then Jephthah fled from his brothers and lived in the land of Tob, and worthless fellows collected around Jephthah and went out with him. After a time the Ammonites made war against Israel. And when the Ammonites made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to bring Jephthah from the land of Tob. ...

Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, ‘I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute,’ so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, may be charged against this generation, from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary. My Email To Senator Stacey Campfield of Tennessee

To: sen.stacey.campfield@capitol.tn.gov
You compared the Affordable Care Act to Nazi Train Rides. I can't believe it. Either you think we are really stupid or you are. The fact that you are in the Koch brothers' pockets is obvious since you are another political troll just spewing their drivel to discredit anything the president does right. Is it that you just can't stand progress are are you a butt puppet of the right wing propaganda network, FAUX NOISE?
First, a law created the A.C.A and your party voted it into place. It is Romneycare with revisions by John McCain. It regulates insurance companies, not the customers so your analogy was immediately recognized as what it is, complete hogwash. I read your attempt to clean up after your stupid remarks saying WE MISUNDERSTOOD? That is an insult to the intelligence of every American.
I am not a Jew but I can't imagine how badly you pissed off the Jewish Americans and there are many who either knew or are direct descendants of holocaust survivors. Compared to being interred in death camps to signing up voluntarily on a website for affordable healthcare through a reputable American insurance provider was so far probably the stupidest thing you have said, but, you are young and I don't really know much about your past. Being from Tennessee doesn't really invite the public to consider you a brain trust to begin with.
The only thing I can say is that every idiotic Republican who has said something like this was stopped in his tracks by one question. What part of the ACA is it that you don't like?  They all get a blank look and then later admit they never read it. Your only followers are the uninformed and now with the advent of the internet, that list is getting shorter and shorter, eventually you will run out of people you can lie to that want to believe hogwash propaganda.
Bobby Jindal said he was tired of the Republican Party being the Party of Stupid and you just added yourself to that list. The only thing that will be acceptable is to admit you lied, apologize, read the ACA and come to grips with the fact that the people who tell you to say those things are bought and paid for by the insurance industry lobbies that don't want to pay for women's health care or gay spousal healthcare coverage. The ACA actually makes them do the job they are contracted to do and quit screwing their customers by canceling service when they get really sick, collecting huge premiums for people who are never sick while calling it "administrative costs",  not paying billed amounts for unknown reasons while leaving that charge to be self payed by the customer, and other atrocities that Hollywood makes movies like "The Rainmaker" about.  How is that any comparison to Nazi Death Camps?  You are an idiot and if that isn't bad enough you made it public.
